A Bit About Me
My name is Dr Carol Galvin and I am a Principal HCPC registered Counselling and Forensic Psychologist working in the NHS and private practice. I am passionate about supporting people to make sense of their experiences and working in a way which fosters hope and resilience. I strongly believe that clients are the expert of themselves whilst also recognising that at times people benefit from extra support in navigating through the challenges that life may bring.

I have almost 20 years experience of training and practice in a broad range of clinical settings with children, teenagers and adults. I have supported people with a wide range of mental health, psychological and neuro-developmental conditions.
I have extensive training in a number of evidenced based therapies (please see therapy page for approaches we offer) and I draw from these approaches to provide individualised support.

Within my private practice I provide independent assessments and have prepared expert medico legal reports for the purpose of criminal, family and personal injury matters. Please contact me for a copy of my professional CV.

Away from work I am mum to two beautiful children who very much keep me busy, challenged and youthful! We love to spend our time exploring around County Durham and Teesside, this usually involves hours at the beach, den building and climbing trees!
