A Bit About Me
My name is Dr Rachel Woodward and I am a Principal HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist working in the NHS and in private practice. I am passionate about nurturing supportive and safe spaces for people to explore their difficulties, experiences and needs.
I have worked therapeutically for over 20 years with children, teenagers and adults for a wide range of difficulties relating to mental health, relationships/sex, neuro-developmental conditions (including, ASD & ADHD), learning difficulties, trauma, physical health and offending behaviour.
My clinical approach is informed by extensive training across a number of evidence-based therapies so I can combine and develop treatment plans that meet individual needs. Please refer to our Therapy section for further information of approaches we can offer.

I have received additional training in cognitive/neuropsychological testing, Motivational Interviewing, Structured Clinical Management (SCM) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). Furthermore, I have been trained and assessed as competent in a range of forensic risk assessments. Please contact me for a copy of my Professional CV for Independent Assessments.

In addition, I am a partner in a corporate and organisational based consultancy firm that can provide specialist training, mentoring, coaching, professional supervision and consultation to individuals, teams and organisations on areas relating to mental health and trauma informed practice.
Please visit Gair & Woodward Psychological Consultancy at www.gairandwoodward.co.uk for further information.

When not working, you will find me spending time with my family (whether my teenager likes it or not!) and friends, walking my dog in the Northumberland countryside, watching ice hockey and creating 'weird' art.
